Jeffrey Baldwin stands on a bench filled with messages from donors in a park near the home he once lived in.
In late 2013 Todd Boyce started a crowdfunding campaign to raise 30,000 dollars to build a statue in memory of a boy. The boy was little Jeffrey Baldwin, a child starved and abused by his grandparents.
Marcus connected with Todd after he came across the Indiegogo campaign and Marcus, Cathy, and Erich (jr.) met with Todd in Ottawa regarding the idea. They all agree’d that they would approach Ruth Abernethy to sculpt the figure of jeffrey. Ruth was a perfect fit for the project.
The project Left the foundry on October 17th 2014 in the afternoon. Jeffrey was unveiled October 18th 2014 in Greenwood Park.
